Mothman

Mothman is a cryptid that is said to be found in North America. A Mothman appearance is said to preceed a disaster and was reported as being seen before the Silver Bridge collapse in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. This association was the focus of the book and film ‘The Mothman Prophecies’.
Some commentators have noted that the constant reporting of Mothman sightings and the appearance of artistic impressions and descriptions of the mystery may have increased the rate of sightings, suggesting a psychological response or cause as an explanation.
Others have suggested that the Mothman mystery could be a result of a "mixing" of details from other folkloric and supernatural mysteries.
